The Rules

Number Rule
1.0 You must adhere to the usual golf rules and regulations at all times. The society is above all meant to be fun but there is a lot of competition between 20 or so golfers. Some take it less seriously than others and that is understandable however tournaments are won or lost on 1 or 2 points, even count back!
1.1 All new entrants to membership will play off their My England Golf handicap. If a player has no official handicap, it will then be decided by the handicap commitee.
1.2 Final scores are based on the players 4 Stableford scores.
1.3 Minimum 4 players to score points.
1.4

Each member will start the year with the opening handicap as agreed at AGM.
Only events within the society count towards any +/- to the opening handicap.
If your handicap changes throughout the year through other non Society events it is therefore excluded
New scoring system
Winner per tournament will be cut 1 shot regardless of how many points.
Each player will be cut 0.3 per shot over 36 points. For example, someone shooting 41 points would be cut 1.5 shots (2.5 if they won)
Under 28 = +0.3
1.5 No gimmies, everyone must putt-out.
1.6 If you are late, you forfeit the holes until you join up with the rest of the group.
1.7 - DrawGate If it's a tie at the end of the league. The player(s) with the most wins, wins the league. If that is a tie. Then it's a 3-hole playoff on that day (16 - 18), repeated until there's an outright winner.
1.8 Your Phone(s) must always be on silent.
1.9

"Egg" Rule:
If a hole-in-one is scored, then the general rule is that we all go to Egg Coulsdon Tapas that night to celebrate (that's if Egg has not been closed down.)
Although, If a hole-in-one is scored during a mid-week game (Monday-Thursday), then the celebrations can be delayed until that weekend.
2.0 1 scorecard per group must be handed into the Captain or Vice Captain at the end of each round for verification.
VPAR does not count as an official score, due to stroke index inaccuracies and user input error.
2.1 - Cheating If anyone is seen to be cheating on a society day and has been picked up by 2 playing partners or more, it will be an instant DQ from that society day.
2.2 - Champion get's cut.

Since day one - the existing Champion has been cut one shot from their handicap, at the beggning of the following season.
